Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

How many of those marvellous doors do you have in Budapest?
They are all so amazing.
I'm loving this journey through such a great city.
I'm with Quintarantino ... enjoying the journey! Love your door posts!
The doors are rather simple, yet elegant. The nicest thing about the building though is the friezes. Very nice. BTW, George made you a star on his post today. You have to check it out.
Gosh these are beautiful doors. I can't believe how many wonderful sets of doors your city has!
These are beautiful doors and the wood seems old and expensive to me.
Thank you all for coming by - it looks as though the door was refinished and does look simple but very solid.
It appears that the door topic had taken off quite nicely with both George Townboy and Clueless :) great idea.
Janice how you have time to visit with all the things you do - I'll never know but I very much appreciate it.
...and last but certainly not least our Emperor Quintarantino hopefully realized his wish and the rain stopped! :)
Here comes the week-end.
You've got several doors today. The middle one looks inviting being left ajar.
I am with Quintarantino. Lovely doors. Nice contrast of colours.

Nice photo!
WoW...this is a very beautifully captured shot...lovely!
Awesome looking door. I love the regal, heavy doors that give the building a statement.
I answered my own question today, as requested. :-)
Sorry, I'm back and maybe with bad news because you have been tagged...
I don´t know if you are found of those tag things, but I was tagged by a friend and had to tag eight more. You were one of them.
Here are the rules of the Meme:
In the 8 facts about yourself,
you share 8 things your readers
don't know about you.
Then at the end you tag 8
other bloggers to keep the fun going.
Sorry.
Women's Day karaoke, packing, apartment works, tagged... oh dear, you need a break! Try Santorini at Blogtrotter... ;))
Have, at least, a reasonable weekend, under the circumstances...
Gil
I love the "peek hole" as it were. :-)
An Open Door is always intreiging? What is behind it???
