Farmers Market

Shopping list in hand, it is one of the final great days to go to the farmers market this fall. This is one of several operating in the city and the fight is on to save it as the powers that be are planning to do away with it and put a parking garage under the park and use the buildings for upscale rental. These plans would not look good with a simple farmers market next door. How sad to get so civilized...

You don't get better than a Farmers Market, always great food, good quality,a nd not too expensive. I can't believe they are planning to get rid of it, here ours is only twice a month - we want more!

We don't have a farmer's market around here really. We do, however, have a gentleman who goes up to the courthouse square on Friday evenings to sell produce. The one thing I miss about living in Florida is that we went to the flea markets on the weekends and we could always buy fresh produce there. Our favorite thing to buy was fresh Okra. Nobody around here sells it fresh, and I wasn't able to get it to grow in our garden this year. :(

Wow, I wonder if Belgrade will follow in Budapest's footsteps in that regard. I guess there is always a price to pay for "progress". :-/

Fight to keep your market!
That means good food, that means work for farmers, that means quality of life for everyone ;Here we have several of them around the town, and several days a week!and we wouldn't change that for anything!

bah to the beaurocrats who would rid us of these vibrant places - alas we have them the world over.

Something we have just started and about time too. Food is so much tastier and cheaper from these places.

Today is my 200th post.

I adore farmer's markets. We have nothing at all like that where I live in Montana but we did back home each week. I miss it- and this looks so nice. Bless fresh veggies
