Szechenyi Ter Statues


A few days ago you've seen the grand building that houses the Gerbaud closing one end of Vorosmarty Square. This is the cluster of statutes that sits in the middle of the square. Its location (so close to the Danube) and the start of the pedestrian shopping street (Vaci u.) places it on every tourist's list - and with good reason.

Here is a photo of the back side of the Sandor Palota on the Buda Hill. It is visible from Pest as it is perched on the hill along the line of the Royal Palace. It had been renovated and currently houses the offices of the president of Hungary.

The photo below is of the summer castle of the same Sandor family, 45 km outside of Budapest, in the town of Bajna, Komarom County.
