Nature's Bounty
From a distance you may not recognize these tiny jewels to be red currants. There is a bumper crop this year and recently I've read that berries are not only rich in vitamin C but also in minerals. Do we ever get too much? Just look at my helper Gigi!
Takes a while to gather enough for syrup but it is well worth the effort. Look around for farms in your area where you can pick your own fruit and enjoy the benefits.

I love red currant jam - my mother used to make it all the time. There aren't any currants in this particular area. Wonderful furry helper too :)
What wonderful lush, green foliage. The berries are so red...I'm embarrassed to say I don't think I have ever had or tasted currents...but I have heard of current jelly. Have a GRAND weekend. BTW Gigi looks like my Sam as he basks in the sun of our garden! Cathy
They are "ribiszli" in Hungarian, right...? as far as I remember...:-)
