Afternoon Traffic
It was bumper-to-bumper all the way into and out of town. Needless to say there is never police around when some (quite a number, actually) drivers decide that their mission is more important than that of anyone else and thus feel free to use the designated bus lane.
The only thing moving unobstructed on Margaret Bridge were the Number 4 & 5 trams.

I am so glad I live in a small city :)
Hello Isadora! It's great to be able to surf the web and catch up on blogging after almost a month of my computer being on strike. The internet part of it anyway. I'm with Janice. I much prefer small towns. They should figure out how to make "traffic" a four-letter word! A traffic jam here is a half dozen cars waiting at the light! Hope to see you visit soon.
Lisa
Is traffic a problem there? I'm so used to it in Los Angeles, but I wonder about European cities where public transportation is so much better.
Thanks for a street-level view!
Hello Isadora !
Isee that there ar lots of cars in Budapest !
Its like in France...
yes, it seems to be a very hard time
It's "funny" to see that the problems are the same wherever you live! So, we feel less alone..
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, there are severe traffic problems in Budapest in general. I'm listening to the radio and for some unbeknown reason this year the Critical Mass ride will be held on a WORK DAY!! (it meant a three hour traffic delay last year on a week-end) http://www.pestiside.hu/20080918/massive-critical-injuries-expected-at-special-workday-running-of-critical-mass/
Oh wait, there is more - on Saturday (tomorrow) there will be two simultaneous demonstrations going on at the same time in downtown (District V) by opposing sides. Also tomorrow...I'll let Erik tell you about it: http://www.pestiside.hu/20080918/hungarianmexican-street-party-to-take-place-amid-hungarian-political-mexican-standoff
There's never a boring moment in this town. :)
Thank you all for visiting!
