St. Stephen's Basilica

It appears that I'm continuing in an off-beat fashion as this photo is taken from a pedestrian street (many of those in Budapest now) where I judged the view stunning and unexpectedly grand.

You judged correctly. This is a grand shot. The basilica looks enormous from this angle. I like being one the the pedestrians and taking a look from here. Really wonderful to see.

Unfortunately I have never been to Budapest but I’ve seen on the photos and on the TV and I’ve heard from others that your city is great, lovely and beautiful.
This pedestrian street and a view of basilica are wonderful.

Isadora, I had no idea that Budapest was so
beautiful. You do all of your subjects with
such romanticism and skill. I wish I was
there with my plein air equipment and enjoying
the views that you have introduced to all of us.
Keep it up, I love your blog.

Thank you all so much for your visit and wonderful comments. It is what really makes this all worth while - the sharing with someone and receiving feedback.

So very stunning. It's lovely how the walk just leads right to the basilica. It's as though the city itself is directing all pedestrians to that peaceful, grand place. Love the length of the street, too.

Thank you for your kind comment today on my Artists Portraits series. I responded to you farther down on the comments page.

Your photo today is a scene we rarely see in the United States: an old, charming pedestrian Street with a view towards a striking monument. That's one of the reasons why we keep coming Europe. I've never been to Budapest but everyone I know that has raves about it. Some day...

Great shot. Your city is very beautiful! I will share a little secret about my photo today. I was at a park and put my long lens on for fun. I could hardly see the boys from where I was. I just started shooting having no idea if I got anything. I thought it might be too blurry, but my friend at St. Louis, Mo. Daily Photo, my new photo coach, assured me it was ok. Glad you liked it too.

Hi. I found you in the comment list on my blog. I'm always amazed at how this web of bloggers works.
I love this photo. This is just the kind of street I would choose to walk when I'm traveling in Europe. And I would have to go into the church too.
