Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Perhaps because it's cold? I wonder what the statues look like up close.

These statues have a lovely form. Nice photo. Thanks for your visit to Cheltenham today :)
Is this a fountain?
You're probably right that people probably don't notice the statues as they rush by. I think most of us are guilty of that most of the time.
I like the bricks, the patterns, the circle that captures the statues. People do have a tendency to wear blinders often.
Thank you!
I wish I could get closer to these statues.
very beautiful composition
Poor statues ... someone should see them really ... well, at least you did.
Could it be that they've already seen them and now just look at them as part of the landscape, like a tree? Looking at some of the photos posted by Clueless and Fenix, I'd have to say I took a lot of the beauty of Boston for granted, never really stopping to take a second look!
They look interesting. Maybe you will show them closeup.
they look so lonely. like they are stretching out and striving for people to come to them. i love them.
The city with all the different sights reminds me a lot of Wiesbaden, but I think I said that before...
Most of us are always in a hurry not seeing the beautiful things they pass along the way.
we are all in a hurry...
Over here in Vancouver Canada a well known artist/photographer placed huge photos of ancient gigantic trees uprooted during a terrible storm in the famous Stanley Park area. They were placed next to a construction site in a busy part of the city. Very few have noticed them or even knew what they resembled. It seems people in general are always in such a hurry to get somewhere they rarely take note of what's happening right where they are.
This is a lovely composition Isadora.
