Buda

Continuing on Clark Adam Square - to the left of the tunnel is the funicular that moves on tracks up the hillside to deliver weary (or in my case, plain lazy) travelers to Castle Hill. Above to the left is the Royal Castle that now houses an exquisite museum and directly above perched on a pole is a statue of the Turul bird, a national symbol of Hungary.

Very interesting, cool, and informative post. I love funiculars! Rode one in Geneva, I think it was... Neato!

Wonderful photos of your lovely and intriguing city.

I look forward to visiting your blog more often this 2008. And you're welcome to mine, too! For some reason, my link was not included in the participating blogs for the 1st of January 2008 theme day. Sorry I wasn't able to visit your blog sooner. I was in transit the whole of yesterday. I am now back in Norwich after the most fantabulous time at home in Manila.

Happy New Year to you and everyone you hold dear!

Love the bird statue. What neat little cable cars and a great idea for the elderly or the plain weary :)

I like the first photograph especially for the sense of architecture in the landscape.
