Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

That's a lot of sushi in 1 seating. I love fresh sushi, but I don't know about prewrapped ones. We have a buffet place close by where you can eat all the sushi you want and other stuff for $15 US. That's a bargain.
I am getting quite a taste for sushi too, especially that wasabi... ohhh it almost blows the top of your head off!
I have never eaten sushi. I need to try some.
Started loving to eat sushi in London, 1974, and increased my love for it during my first visit to Japan in 1983; now can have it in Budapest. Great!
Talking Budapest, just posted the last pictures from my 2006 trip to your city on Blogtrotter. Hope you like it!
Have a great weekend!
sushi for delivery!? nice! i never knew sushi was that popular in budapest. i thought a lot of people can't eat raw fish.
i am not sushi fan...it just doesn't taste good to me...I've tried!!!
I am not a sushi fan either. But since you are, I'm glad you have this opportunity.
And I hope you are enjoying your lazy weekend!
Mari-Nanci
wow, that must be nice! sushi to your door!
OH, OH, OH, OH, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Pu-leeeee-ze... Yes!!
(And don't forget the cold sake!)
I love sushi, too! but I never had it home delivered ;-)
Enjoy!
I was just telling Dusty (Minneapolis) that you two have recently been eating what I'll be cooking today and tomorrow: sushi and king crab (bought the ingredients yesterday!). Funny how CDPBers from around the world will post (or eat) similar things around the same time. :)
Haven't posted food pix in a while, I shall post some this week.
Here Seiyo (Washington St) delivers good sushi (and the hot dishes arrive hot). Perfect for casual gatherings.
mmm, so how was this sushi? Looks delicious! I must run out and buy some ahi tuna sushi for dinner, thank you for this idea!
That looks like my husband's idea of good take-out!
I prefer pizza, though.
You're making me hungry.
Oh maki-sushi! yumminess!!! We also have sushi delivery here plus noodles or rice-meal combos hehe...They give wine with it too! This is a lot, but yes I'd prefer to do it myself since I don't like the thought of other persons hand on the food hehe. =D
Now I really have to fo there!
