First Snow in Budapest

As long as it had to be cold and gray, it might as well be decorated. It was - the first snow in Budapest on Sunday. Began with a drizzle of sleet then huge flakes of snow for a couple of hours before turning to rain that lasted into the night. Too bad that my camera did not do justice to the vision that lay before me from the bedroom terrace.

You captured the falling snow beautifully against the building in the background.

Yikes!
That's one of the few things that makes me glad I don't live in continental Europe, Isadora.
It might rain a lot on my little island but I much prefer that to driving in snow!
Brrr …
Roll on spring!

Lovely snow image, Isadora, you really have detail in this photograph! Thanks for the snow.:).Regarding Vizcaya, glad you had time to tour it over that weekend--I went there on a day that several film shootings were taking place, so I only have partial areas. There was a fashion shoot on the dock, by the barge and water, and two other ones in the gardens--and they all had those areas sort of roped off--so I only managed a few photos there, maybe next time. :)

That is a great photo! So...you live right in the city?

Yeah, for snow and rain you've got to use manual settings which can be a pain if you are used to shooting in auto mode, like I am :(, but I like the picture the way it is. I know it shows the falling snow more like ice needles than snow, but it's a lovely view of a gorgeous façade.

(This year I am not looking forward to cold weather and snow at all. May fall last until April!)

No snow in Boston, yet. I know it's coming, but I can wait. It has always seemed to me the earlier it snows, the less you get, at least in Boston.

Nice view from your balcony! Have a great week.

Thank you all so much for the great comments. I think we could have had a nice visit with mulled wine.

This morning it was sunny again then afternoon - like clockwork - dark and cloudy.

Fenix automatic it is :)

After having been a suburbanite in the US all my life, I LOVE being right in the middle of town - one street back from the Oktogon. I'm just minutes from virtually everything I need to be at. Yet it is quiet because of being removed by one street. Such a luxury. When I've had enough we (the cats and I) pack ourselves in the car and drive to the village and the vineyard 45 minutes away.

Could you carry a little bit of this snow on our mountains please.

Beautiful snow photo! I prefer snow to this gloomy weather over here. This morning started with rain and then continued with snow and then again with rain....

We had a cold snap here in the UK with temperatures down to -3C. But its not due to last. Will look forward to some snow pictures of Budapest.

Sorry about the snow.

I like snow for about a half a day, and then it could melt and come back next year and that would be ok with me.

p.s. adding you

I think this is a very beautiful photo!

And if this is a shot from _your_ terrace... Then yours is very similar to those we see, on the next building over, I would think. How very beautiful it must be, where you live.

You've done a beautiful job capturing that snowfall. No first snowfall yet here in my part of Canada, but I am hoping and waiting. :)

This is an amazing picture. The snow looks like strings. Great job.
And thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web.
