Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Fenix - OH, YES!!! THANK YOU for the suggestion. Just look at the difference in the photos. That was very generous of you to help.
Great photos. I love that you leave them in large so when enlarged you can see so much more detail.
Grooming for males? Not such a bad idea for special occasions.
My pleasure. Big difference, yes. :)
I felt the same and used an old photo, too. Must be spreading around. :)
Clueless - it was Fenix who told me HOW to make them appear larger than the initial small frames that were automatically assigned by the program. :) I love the difference too.
j. Andrew - for a moment I thought I would fib and pass them off as new, but the budding trees in the first photo and the rich foliage in the second were too much of a giveaway :)
Fenix :)
Thank you all for visiting.
I like the big photos too. Do you care to share how you did that? I upload my photos are large, but they still appear small in my blog.
WoW...some very beautifully captured shots....
about your query on my site Calcutta DP, those are bangles of gold studded with jewels. Thanks!
Isadora, I think Clueless in Boston meant that he loves that, when clicked, the photos enlarge to 1600 pixels.
AVCR8TEUR, I just checked and your blog template needs to be wider to accommodate larger photos. So first you have to change or widen your template. You can choose a wide template from "settings" or change the width of your current one manually (do a search on "how to change blog width").
I have had a lot of those rainy afternoons. Nice pictures.
The playground must be wonderful, for city children.
And anything which slows/reduces traffic, is good for that reason, alone. :-)
Mari-Nanci
This playground (+ Ramada Inn) is in the district 9 :)
:) Andrey! you got me - I still get confused about that, but you are right. Since it is your neighborhood you'll keep me honest.
