The Budapest Operetta Theater

You've seen the statue of Kalman on the bench in front of the theater If you look carefully at the enlarged picture, there he sits quietly in the dark on the bottom left of the photo. His shoulder is outlined by the light. Now here is the theater itself. It has a somewhat mysterious glow to it in the dark. Doesn't it?

Excellent shot. I love the 'detail' of the statue in the corner. Well framed, well shot, well done!
Thanks,

Great photos.

I visited Hungary in the 1970's (with my ex, who was born in Baja). I have fond memories of traveling thru Budapest and the surrounding countryside.

Some of my family came from Hungary. Actually, I could say that for a number of countries/areas in Europe. Anyhow, your photos make me more anxious to visit there. Lovely!

Thank you all for visiting and leaving your comments. It is my pleasure always to visit others. So much you can see through the eyes of others.

Citygirl and Jess :) Sometimes it seems the whole world is Hungarian? :)

Todd :) not a bad guess but that is the Hungarian spelling of Juliet.

Suz and Lilli - I am definitely not objective about Budapest, you could tell, huh?

Dive :) Nice to see you here. You should visit more often - you are never grouchy when you are here.

Wayne and Mr. Lincoln a special thank you :)

The rain also gives off a good reflection. The shadow from the top statue really adds to the photo too.

What a lovely building. I imagine people enjoy themselves there.

I also wanted to say that you're right, my husband was my Atlas--how neat of you to find that in my post. Thank you.
