"Thanksgiving Comes First"
Today I'm dedicating this blog to the effort of reminding merchants that Christmas is on December 25th. We all know, we have always known and do not want or need to be reminded of it months in advance. I'm personally beginning to resent Christmas because of the buying frenzy the public is whipped into that by the time the holiday arrives who can really enjoy it? If you feel the same way or had similar thoughts - please visit these blogs and do what your conscience tells you. You have the RIGHT to enjoy and savor your holidays - the first thing we must do is reclaim them.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm so happy to visit yours. I'm going to love seeing your Budapest photos each day!
Beautiful feast, but doesn't Christmas have pagan origins, in that it was the celebration of the shortest day. The Winter Solstice.
I just checked and quite a few "Thanksgiving comes first" hits are starting to show up on Google. Yours isn't included, though, because of the different wording in the title.
Tomorrow we shall see a lot more Google hits. Who knows if this will work, but it is worth trying, I think. :)
I can't believe it's Thanksgiving already. It goes by so fast.
I'd better go shopping for my Valentine's Day cards and candy soon.
:-)

Maybe we can already start thinking about Easter! ;-)
Just ignore the "merchants" and enjoy your holidays!
That's a beautiful table setting.
Amen! BTW, this is an absolutely gorgeous Thanksgiving table! So far, I haven't bought the first Christmas present and won't til after Thanksgiving.
I completely agree!!!
Just woke up and already I find posts - I think I like posting the night before :) Love the surprises.
Fenix - I took care of the title problem. Thou shall not be excluded for wishing to be different. :)
Alice it is wonderful to have you around as is everyone.
Davem - you are absolutely right. This was the initial reason for my sending Christmas cards in September - as Christ was born in September, but to make it more convenient to celebrate, it was moved to the end of December. As we all know it just got way out of hand from there. :)
Oswegan - plain, dark chocolate for me and you can forget the card it only collects dust - I'm a pack rat and can't bare to part with things.
The picture will once again witness to my love of food. Thought all of us would love to sit down to such an inviting table.
Sidney :) Easter huh? I suspect you are thinking of a bunny too. Talk about paganising a holiday. BTW Easter IS my favorite holiday.
Take a cue from Luke - spite them all (merchants) and enjoy our holidays! Thank you for visiting.
Oh wow! Yum Yum...or Miam Miam as the Poles would say. Very interesting to see such a westernised spread (turkey with all the trimmings) in Central/Eastern Europe. The Poles don't even eat turkey for Christmas. Instead they eat carp. Yuck!
I am to diet, this photo is a hard torture for me.
shopping shopping shopping ... i love the modern society , especialy in the past 10 years since globalization is showing us the way to live our life . who needs holidays when you have shopping ? what a holiday would be without shopping ?
Thank you so much for adding your voice to ours! I've linked you in the latest post.
(Lovely dinner, by the way. It's making me quite hungry :-) )
Glenn - carp is wonderfully tasty food!! I love it. But then I'm also an expat and miss Thanksgiving among other things.
Bucefalo :) I'm always on a diet, and I guess I know why? I can resist everything but temptation.
ro_pumpkin :) hate shopping, hate shopping, simply hate shopping. no, really, i hate shopping.
Great picture of a Thanksgiving table. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday - it's just food, family, and football.
Just today, a local radio station has started playing Christmas songs and it won't stop until after Christmas day. It's just too early and by the time Christmas does roll around, I'll be sick of the music and no longer in the holiday mood.
Thanks for your visit to Kenzie's place and comment. I'm glad you did so I could be reminded of this great website. I remember seeing some photos here and loving them.
Hey..I feel the same way about the commercialization of Christmas. I'll have to go check out those sites.
Gosh that's a beautiful photo.
Beautiful dinner photo.
I was not aware that Thanksgiving is celebrated in Budapest. I thought it was more of a North American thing.
Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!
This photo makes my tuna sandwich lunch a little unappetizing.
