Can you tell?
Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

clasped in some sort of anguished and rather spooky prayer, i would have thought :o)
I guess the hands are grasping a dagger.
Thank´s for your comment.
Would love to get your visit on my new solo project.
I think in agonizing prayer too - unique graffiti Isadora
I see the one on the right as praying for relief from a hangover after drinking and partying too much ;-)
Very different... more traditionally artistic.
yeah, is it a ninja or a person in prayer? looks like ninja to me... (too many movies). have a great Friday!
This is what happens: The guy on the right is praying to the gods: Oh, please, make this drunken fool stop singing! The guy can't carry a tune!
(Well, actually, that's the PG version...)
These look like they were drawn with a chalk. I can't say I've ever seen those on a building. The drawing on the left looks like a guy who has been relaxing and drinking too much while the guy on the right looks like a masked man wearing a coat & tie, not holding a dagger. Funny how different people see different things.
Well the hands are clasped together but one eye remains open. And it reminds me of a ninja also. Suppose he is saying grace before starting his drunken weekend?
What an interesting find!
I liked the contrast ... clueless really ... but if I have to think hard (which I seldom do :)) he is holding a dragger

Though I am not sure...I'd like to think the sketch on the right has his/her hands folded in prayer...Hope springs eternal...It is thought provoking!
I like the graffiti on the left. Normally, I'm not a fan of graffiti but this one looks good.
wow, cool...I think he is meditating.
sandy
the white colour graffiti matches the whole gray and white scheme of the building!
Thank you all for visiting and leaving your very original comments.
Glad that you've appreciated how different this was - just as it struck me as I walked along. Sometimes I wonder how I ever lived without a camera in my hand as I am so visual. :)
Fenix :) I love your GP version would you whisper the x rated?
How sweet, unusual the drink balancer, and I think the one on the right is deliberate, they are clever!
Keep us guessing.
Love your photography, thankyou!
I never leave the house either, (without my humble camera).
There is always something....
Pam
