Life in the Trenches

Believe it or not, I'm old enough to consider the mode of transportation I use depending on how my knees feel. Going up and down the stairs to the metro are not always the first choice. I'm amazed at how sturdy the elderly are around here and the obstacles that meet them at every corner. (You don't suppose they are not as old as they look, simply worn away?)

I'm sorry to see that you have to endure fast food there too.

This is an interesting photo.

I'm with Oswegan; the stairs are fine, it's the junk food sign that's horrid.

HaHa... I do not know how I would be when I'm at their age.

Maybe they have just learned to suffer in silence.

I'd have a tough time myself if I had to climb those everyday but then it would certainly keep one in shape, would it not?

There are escalators at some of the stations to the trains (some are very deep), but you still have to get down to the escalators by the steps. :)

Yes, I would prefer to take the escalators too.

Guys - don't take my Burger King away :) I need a fix now and then.

Thank you for coming by - enjoy your day. Hope you are getting ready for Christmas.

No elevator or escalator. Stairs are good exercise so I guess if you do it enough, it will be easier; however, having a fast food restaurant at the top doesn't help with keeping in shape.
