Here is the link for you as well to see a 'live' shot over Budapest. Hopefully, by the time you see it, it really will be LIVE.
Many times I've walked through Budapest being struck by something I wanted to share. Here, I do just that. What follows are glimpses along life's path that had touched my heart. Enjoy! Budapest Daily Photos recently moved to its own home. The photos here may be enlarged by clicking on them unlike BudapestResources.com website, its previous home.
The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Hazy weather back in August ;)
This live webcam seems to be working. This other one, too. And this one shows some very cool city shots.
(BTW, the salad alone would have been a bit too little even for lunch. I use salad dishes as main dishes, medium size breakfast bowls for soup and dipping bowls for chopped salads. ;D)
What a wonderful city you have there. I can imagine long nights by that river.. watching musical notes being played in the nights sky as I secretly listen to the winds conversation.
Beautiful.

That is a great view for a web cam shot.
fantastic view.
I really want to get to Budapest. We have an operation there. I need to find an excuse to go and provide some sort of on site training.

Very neat to see this view of your city. Clever thinking to utilize the webcam to get a view that would be 'out of reach' otherwise. :D
Thanks,
Wayne
Now that's a city (or two) to get lost in. I would love to roam those streets.
I clicked on the link and it's still not live. I'll just imagine Budapest to be perpetually sunny and warm. ;)
great idea these webcams!
You do indeed have a beautiful city. And this picture contains so much. The river truly is the heart of it all, isn't it?
Seems to me Budapest is really a lovely city worth a visit.
And the "Danau" seems to give the city some magical atmosphere.
Nice photo.
Cool!
Now we can keep an eye on you.
wow! the city looks very nice! and what a great picture! you can pursue a career in aerial photography as well :^)
I got so caught up looking at the links you and Fenix gave I forgot to post a comment. What a marvelous view from the web cam! I'd love to visit.
Great view...enjoyed seeing it.

Fenix you are utterly amazing. :) Thank you. There are several other web cams, but the reason I chose this particular one was its location on the Citadel. It is the one that gives the best view in illustration of the Buda being the hillside and Pest the flat 'other' side of the Danube and the position of Margaret Island.
Hope it will be back in operation again.
So wonderful to have you come by for a visit. Love sharing the beauty of this place.
Wonderful idea! I really enjoyed seeing your beautiful town through your web cam.
Thank you again. But it's still the August photo. :-) Perhaps something is wrong with the workings of the camera, at present...
